I say to myself, "The Lord is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in Him!"

Lamentations 3:24 New Living Translation

success in a different light

In the world's eyes, Jeremiah failed. He had no money or family and very few friends. He prophesied the destruction of the nation, the capital city, and the Temple, but the political and religious leaders would not accept or follow his advice. No group of people liked him or listened to him.

Yet as we look back, we see that he successfully completed the work God gave him to do. We cannot measure success by standards of popularity, fame or fortune. God measures our success with the yardstick of obedience, faithfulness, and righteousness. If you are faithfully doing the work God has given you, you are successful. Parable of the Three Servants | Matthew 25:14-30

“Again, the Kingdom of Heaven can be  illustrated by the story of a man going on a long trip. He called  together his servants and entrusted his money to them while he was gone. He gave five bags of silver to one, two bags of silver to another, and one bag of silver to the last—dividing it in proportion to their abilities. He then left on his  trip.

“The servant who received the five bags of silver began to invest the money and earned five more. The servant with two bags of silver also went to work and earned two more. But the servant who received the one bag of silver dug a hole in the ground and hid the master’s money.

“After a long time their master returned from his trip and called them to give an account of how they had used his money. The  servant to whom he had entrusted the five bags of silver came forward  with five more and said, ‘Master, you gave me five bags of silver to  invest, and I have earned five more.’ “The  master was full of praise. ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give  you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!’

“The  servant who had received the two bags of silver came forward and said,  ‘Master, you gave me two bags of silver to invest, and I have earned two  more.’ “The  master said, ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more  responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!’  |  Matthew 25:14-23 NLT

As a founding member, my personal mission statement, as a life committed to Christ,

"Each day, where I live, learn, work, play, and pray, my personal mission is to put into action the generosity that comes from a faith in Christ as I understand and experience all the good things we have in His love, serving together as one in the Spirit of the Gospel, as a compassionate and transforming healing presence, refreshing the hearts of the needy and restoring hope in a good and immensely loving Lord, as I am myself, daily and actively renewed by Christ's own example of authentic, actionable, and applied grace in our Father's love for each of us."

Scriptural guidance: Philemon 1:4-7 ("I always thank my God when I pray for you, Philemon, because I keep hearing about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all of God’s people. And I am praying that you will put into action the generosity that comes from your faith as you understand and experience all the good things we have in Christ. Your love has given me much joy and comfort, my brother, for your kindness has often refreshed the hearts of God’s people.")

"As founder of The Good Fruit Foundation, my personal vision is to be strong and courageous with all hope in the Lord in a daily, unyielding love for others, where through peaceful action as words of ministry, a quiet, confident, spirit-led work of good fruit will renew, strengthen, and encourage others, producing an abundance of Christ's love and goodness, fulfilling the words in responsible stewardship, "well done good and faithful servant." "

Scriptural guidance: Psalm 31:24 ("So be strong and courageous, all you who put your hope in the Lord!"); 1 Corinthians 12 (Spiritual Gifts); 1 Corinthians 13 (Love in perspective as key); 1 Corinthians 14 (build up the church; be useful and understandable), Matthew 25 (how have you managed the blessings and abilities I gave you?)

our statement of faith

the basis for love in action

" —when God our Savior revealed His kindness and love, He saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit. He generously poured out the Spirit upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior.  Because of His grace He made us right in His sight and gave us confidence that we will inherit eternal life.

This  is a trustworthy saying, and I want you to insist on these teachings so that all who trust in God will devote themselves to doing good. These teachings are good and beneficial for everyone.  Titus 3:4-8 New Living Translation

“I have called you back from the ends of the earth, saying, ‘You are my servant.’ For I have chosen you and will not throw you away. Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.” Isaiah 41:9-10
